What You'll Be Doing
Review user-generated content (text, images, audio, or video) submitted across partner platforms for compliance with community guidelines
Identify, flag, and action content that violates policy — including harmful, abusive, or inappropriate material
Escalate high-risk, sensitive, or ambiguous cases to senior moderators or trust & safety leads
Document moderation decisions accurately and consistently for audit and quality purposes
Provide structured feedback to help refine moderation guidelines and workflows
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (support, legal, product) to ensure consistent policy enforcement across markets and languages
Requirements
Strong written and spoken English; additional local language proficiency is a plus
Excellent attention to detail and sound, consistent judgment
Ability to remain objective and fair when applying guidelines to nuanced or ambiguous content
Emotional resilience — comfortable reviewing potentially sensitive, graphic, or distressing material
Reliable computer, headset, and stable high-speed internet connection
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage a queue-based workload
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in content moderation, trust & safety, community management, or quality assurance
Familiarity with moderation tools, ticketing systems, or content management platforms
Background in communications, law, social sciences, or a related field (an asset, not mandatory)
Experience working with global, multicultural teams
Assessment Process
Shortlisted applicants will complete a scenario-based moderation assessment to evaluate judgment, consistency, and guideline application, followed by identity verification before onboarding.
What to Expect
Fully remote role, with flexible or shift-based scheduling depending on partner needs
Competitive compensation, paid on an hourly or task basis depending on engagement type
Access to Andela's global talent network and ongoing professional development opportunities
Potential for growth into senior moderation, quality assurance, or trust & safety roles based on performance
